Had a work dinner earlier this week. It’s great when other people pick restaurants because it’s a good reminder of how almost every restaurant will accommodate keto if you ask them to and that it isn’t always necessary to look up menu’s before hand.
We had a smaller menu at Bella Vita Cucina because the group was large, but I found an appetizer and entree that worked. I started with a caprese salad, always a great keto option, and got the veal scallopini with mushroom cream sauce which I asked them not flour. Don’t be afraid to ask for changes, you’re paying for the meal and the worst that can happen is they say no and you pick something else to eat. The veggies on the side came with carrots so I left them on the plate. I added parm cheese over everything, for a little extra fat.
I would definitely eat here again while keto-ing, as I’m sure their full menu has more options to choose from.
On Friday night date night Dave and I try to go to different places every week. We’d been to P&M Kouzzina’s BK (before Keto) and knew that at the very least they’d have steak for us to get. We were pretty surprised at how many options the restaurant had for us.
For a starter we had grilled calamari and for mains Dave got bacon wrapped steak with shrimp, broccoli, mushrooms and caesar salad and I got chicken diavolo with a side of turnip fries. In the year that we’ve been eating at restaurants while doing keto we’ve gotten pretty good at asking for nutritional information and substituting when necessary. Don’t be afraid to ask for something else, kitchens are usually really accommodating!
Not home for a few meals this week so it was a relatively easy one to plan:
Sunday: Cauliflower Soup
Monday: Caprese Salad and Fish
Thursday: Work Supper
Friday: Date Night!
Saturday: Chicken Caesar Salad
Veggies/fruit/nuts: broccoli, strawberries, lettuce, avocado, basil, almonds, basa fillets, tomatoes.

Misc: heavy cream, asiago and spinach dip, pork rinds, peanut butter, garlic powder.
Glad to be back making grocery plans this week after not being able to last week. Kept it relatively easy, cause keto doesn’t need to be difficult!
